Fudgy Chocolate Brownie
you'd never know how exciting baking brownies can be until you try it out yourself. read my sarcasm: EXCITING. alright but overall it was enjoyable :)

i decided to do something constructive yesterday instead of just bumming around my house waiting for calls from job agencies which never did come. so i woke up and began to search for baking recipes online. i had been meaning to find some useful ones from the site mich had given on her blog, but nothing caught my attention. then i went to the martha stewart website and found some really wicked recipes! haha in the end i settled for this one. there's even a streaming video that was filmed during her cook show to illustrate some of the steps.

i jotted down all the necessary ingredients then headed to the ntuc at jurong point to get 'em. before that i was checking my cabinets if i had the proper equipment to make the brownies. so i came back home (met minshan at jp too), and got ready to start on my mission x)

i had never melted chocolate before, so i just got this glass bowl placed over a pot of steaming water. i was happily melting both the butter and chocolate and was almost done already, when the glass bowl suddenly cracked and sank into the pot! it wasn't a loud 'thud', but i was stunned nonetheless haha. so it was lucky that i didn't buy the hershey's chocolate because it was much more expensive than the nestle one i used. *sigh
went out again to buy the chocolate and i decided to try my luck at the ntuc in the boon lay shopping centre. i walked all the way there under the scorching sun okay! in the end i couldn't find it :( took bus to jp again and got the nestle one. again.

so from there i learnt how not to use glass bowls to melt chocolate (where had my science knowledge all gone to?). used a metal pan instead! haha and it was successful. i was soooooo happy. so then, everything went smoothly from there. even my old pok pok oven didn't show its attitude!

i'm going to meet baozeng later in town, then ade and yueru at vivocity for dinner and then reub at the cathay to catch pirates! YIPEE!
